If the person you’re sending money to doesn’t have a Birdie account, they’ll receive an email notification or text message letting them know you’ve sent them a gift. They’ll be guided through a few simple steps to create an account.
Once they’ve signed up, they can transfer the money directly to their bank account. If the recipient doesn’t create a Birdie account within 30 days, the gift will expire, and the funds will be returned to you.
